UHC IFP Prospecting & Client Retention Templates, Emailing & Workflows

UHC provided templates for IFP Prospecting & Client Retention are available for use for mass email, direct messaging and automated workflows

United HealthCare has provided several templates for your use in email marketing & client retention. If you sell UHC Individual Family Plans and do NOT see these templates in your account already, please message us in the Help app and we’ll get them pushed into your account. Please note that these templates have been approved by UHC and should only be modified to adjust agent signature details.

The 2024 templates for the UHC IFP client retention workflow last year are still valid. We’ll be getting updated templates into your accounts in early August for these. We’ll cover how to build the workflow later in this video.

The new templates are labeled "UHC IFP" with "2025" in the template name for easy identification.

The UHC IFP Prospecting 2025 SEP Qualification template can be used for mass email or direct messaging to prospects or clients. If you want your agents to be able to use this template for direct messaging, check the box for “Make Available To All Agents.” Scroll down and save the update.

You can then go to Email to create a one time, mass email to a specific list of leads or you can go into a person’s profile and hit SEND EMAIL to send the message directly. Select the template and send.

UHC IFP- Details on 2025 One Pass Select Opportunity is for clients who did not sign up for One Pass at enrollment.

Day 1: 2025 Palm of your hand - UHC IFP is for a client retention workflow for them to get instructions on downloading the UHC app.

Let’s build the client retention workflow.

Go to SETTINGS> Automated Workflows. Search for UHC Client Retention in case you built it last year. If so, EDIT. If no, hit ADD WORKFLOW.

Set the Name and the criteria to trigger the workflow. In this case, the criteria is

For Clients

Carrier= United HealthCare

Policy Status = Active

Policy Coverage Type= Health

On Date= ON Effective Date

Note that I’ve checked each of the boxes for the criteria. Don’t miss that step. Save Workflow.

Now you can add Actions. If you already have the 30, 60, 90 day templates, all you need to do is Add Action of Send Email After 1 Day (or 1 minute if you prefer) to the RECORD, in this case being the client. Choose the template of Day 1: 2025 Palm of your hand - UHC IFP Save Action.

If you haven’t built out the other actions, continue to hit Add Action, this time Send Email After 30 days to the Record choosing the template of 30 Day Check In. Save Action. Add another for 60 days and the 90 day.

You can also create a workflow to send out a One Pass Select message if they haven’t signed up for that yet.

Go to SETTINGS> Account Tags. Add a Tag of Pitch UHC One Pass Select or whatever makes sense for you to call it.

Then go to SETTINGS> Automated Workflows.

Add Workflow. Name it Pitch UHC One Pass.

The trigger criteria will be:

For Clients

Tagged with Pitch UHC One Pass Select. Save Workflow.

Add Action of Send Email perhaps 35 days later to the Record using the template of

UHC IFP- Details on 2025 One Pass Select Opportunity Save Action.
